Fred Loimer is the owner of Weingut Loimer in Langenlois, Kamptal, Niederösterreich. Weingut Loimer was founded in 1962. Before taking over from his father in 1997. Fred went to winemaking college in Klosterneuburg where he graduated in 1983 International travelling and experimenting after his return brought him to the point where he decided to convert to biodynamic farming in 2006. He is one of the leaders for the biodynamic movement in Austria and famous for his Grüner Veltliner and Riesling with an enormous aging potential. Besides that, he restarted to produce Austrian sparkling wine (Sekt) again in 2013. Pinot Noir is his secret love so he produces it with passion and success. Loimer wines are highly rated in the most important publications like The Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator every year.
