Cinzia Travaglini belongs to the third generation of the Travaglini family, owners of Travaglini Wines – renowned producer of traditional, limited production wines made in the tiny appellation of Gattinara in northern Italy’s esteemed Piedmont region.
Cinzia was born in Gattinara in 1967 and was raised amongst the vines in the picturesque foothills of the Italian Alps. It is no surprise that she inherited her family’s passion for the land and for the art of winemaking. Established nearly a century ago by Cinzia’s great-grandfather, Clemente Travaglini, Travaglini Wines has been run with passion and commitment throughout the generations. Cinzia’s late, beloved father, Giancarlo, worked tirelessly to expand the property and successfully grew into the largest single vineyard owner in Gattinara while remaining ardently dedicated to producing wines of exceptional quality and value.
Fascinated by wine from a very early age, it was never doubted that Cinzia would one day continue in her father’s footsteps. Working side by side, she absorbed all he knew about the vineyards and winery. Following high school graduation, she began travelling with him to industry conferences in Italy as well as abroad to further develop the skill set that today aides her in managing the winery.
In 1994, Cinzia married Massimo Collauto, now chief winemaker at Travaglini, with whom she has two daughters, Alessia and Carolina. Her mission is to maintain the integrity of the company and to continue to run it in the same spirit and with the same principles as her father, grandfather and great-grandfather did before her.
