Join ATX Somms for an intimate exploration of Château Lascombes, the historic Second Growth estate of Margaux, led by winemaker and estate director Axel Heinz.

One of Bordeaux’s most storied appellations, Margaux is celebrated for Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines that combine structure, perfume, finesse, and remarkable longevity. This class will take us beyond the appellation and into the vineyards and cellar of Château Lascombes, exploring the distinctive terroir of the estate and the decisions that shape the wines from vine to bottle.

Axel Heinz brings a fascinating perspective to Bordeaux following more than two decades in Tuscany, where he helped establish Ornellaia and Masseto among the world’s most recognized fine wines. Since joining Château Lascombes, he has begun a new chapter for this historic property, with a renewed focus on precision in the vineyard, terroir expression, and the individual character of the estate’s vineyard parcels.

Through a guided tasting of Château Lascombes wines, we’ll examine Margaux terroir, vineyard sites, varietal composition, vintage expression, winemaking, and the evolution of the estate under Axel’s direction.

This is a rare opportunity to taste alongside the winemaker and hear firsthand how one of Bordeaux’s classified growths is balancing centuries of history with a new vision for its future.
